i do: leah & ryan; huntingburg indiana wedding photographer

it started in high school for these two. it’s evident when spending time with them. there’s a sense of extreme comfort that comes from knowing someone for so long. wedding morning was a little hectic, as they sometimes are, and in between surprise tears, leah kept saying, “i just need to see ryan and i’ll be fine.” and she was right. moments after their first look, i could just see a weight off leah’s shoulders. that’s what being married and having a partner is all about, right? someone to calm the storm, wipe your tears and make you feel at ease with nothing more than a knowing look?
wedding day was the first time i met both ryan & leah, something that always makes me really nervous, but i couldn’t have felt more at home with them. this was a funny wedding for me, as leah & ryan must be the missing link to all my other clients. while getting my gear together at the reception, not one, but two future client couples came up to chat with me. i had no idea they even knew each other! oh and one of her bridesmaids might look familiar…her wedding’s coming up, too! so, yes, that means a total of 4 couples (8 clients) were at this wedding. how cool is that?!
ryan & leah, thank you so much for allowing me to be a small part of your day. i can’t think of a better couple to have kicked off my wedding season.

i love when my clients choose to do a first look. not only does it allow for more time after the ceremony to just sit back and relax, but it allows for a smoother pre-ceremony schedule since all family photos are completed. and what’s not to love about the raw emotion of seeing each other and keeping that moment between just the two of you? and your photographer, of course.

ryan couldn’t keep his eyes off leah. can you blame him?

ryan’s dad played/sang their first dance song. it was a really special touch to the day.
