Grace and Jordan’s Coastal Petoskey, Michigan Wedding

I really don’t even know how one is supposed to gracefully express what it means to capture a wedding for a couple like Grace and Jordan. Our paths first crossed a couple years ago when we shot their engagement session in Bloomington; a place to dear to them. A couple years later, I was honored to be asked to travel to northern Michigan, Petoskey to be exact, to continue documenting their love story.

That love story began in high school, which means that Grace and Jordan have so many people rooting them on and excited to celebrate their love. They are the kind of people who tell you exactly how much you mean to them, which means that everyone wants to share that love right back at them. It was important to them to have little pockets throughout the day to spend with just each other, which I thought was so so awesome. It can feel “wrong” for a couple to prioritize time away from their guests, but at the end of the day, it’s about them. Taking time to let that sink in and check in with each other is wonderful.

Anyone who knows me knows that my love for Michigan runs deep. I love that Grace and Jordan’s wedding pushed us “Up North” because Bay Harbor and Petoskey are just as cute, wonderful and perfect as everyone says it is. I really applaud any couple that stays true to what they want, even if it means asking guests to drive hours away. I’ll never be able to accurately explain how much this day meant to me. It was perfect in every way and I am extremely proud of the photos I have to show for it.

This is a friendly reminder that I do travel often for weddings and am always up for any destination weddings or sessions.
