mother nature may have been the only person NOT on sarah+jason’s side on their wedding day a couple weeks ago. rain was forecasted all.dang.day. it started pouring about 20 minutes before i was set to leave for the church with the girls for photos which made me panic. hard. so i left the girls to stay dry at sarah’s parent’s house and went to meet the boys to discuss plan b. and wouldn’t you know it? 30 minutes pre-ceremony the sun was bright and high, not a raindrop to be found. kelly (my second shooter) and i kicked it into HIGH gear in order to get all bridal party portraits finished BEFORE the ceremony as another storm was quickly heading our way. but, as i said, other higher, more powerful forces that be were on their side because the rain stayed away the rest of the evening, allowing for plenty of time for (beautiful) portraits after the ceremony.
through all the chaos, created by the crappy weather, both sarah and jason looked as though they couldn’t be bothered. not sweating the small stuff, all that mattered to them was that they were getting married that day. everything else was bonus. i loved sarah for her calm, “it is what it is” attitude for the day because if she only KNEW what was happening in my own head!
these two are surrounded by so many people who love them to bits, which made for a very memorable day. keith bauer did a beautiful job with the all-white bouquets and floral arrangements at klubhaus 61 and kevin powell was an awesome dj and master of ceremonies (seriously, future brides, he’s the best), as usual. thanks, s+j for having me be a small part of your day!
meanwhile, the guys were getting ready at the church. nice shot, kelly!
one of the most asked questions i get from brides is whether i think having a 2nd shooter is worth the investment. throughout this post you’ll see sprinkles of my/kelly’s shots, taken at the exact same moment. basically, having a 2nd shooter allows the camera to be in 2 places at once, which you can see is a pretty cool asset to have.
kelly’s on the left, mine on the right.
my view on the left, kelly’s on the right.
