i do: laura+craig; huntingburg indiana wedding photographer

laura and craig’s story started a while ago. perhaps before laura even knew there was a craig back when she always laid claim to “playing the honey” when a game of house ensued with her best friend (and maid of honor). laura has this calm, loving, sweet spirit that just oozes to all around her. it’s no wonder craig, admittedly a bit more loud and boisterous (but just as sweet) than her, was taken by laura and eventually made her his permanent honey a few weeks ago.
i ADORE laura, craig and their families. i’ve so loved getting to know them over the past year, starting with their engagement photos, and am truly sad that our journey is over! i tend to get this way with all my clients, but especially those whose story i’ve told in its entirety. i hope you two had an amazing honeymoon in jamaica and are settling back into life in tennessee!
but first, i have a couple things to say about this wedding…1) you’re about to be COMPLETELY photo bombed. sorry i’m not even a little bit sorry. 2) i feel i need to give a special shout out, pat on the back, gold star to erin rust for completely knocking this wedding out of the park. sure, she only (ha!) had her hand in the flowers and reception decor, but people, let me tell you…flowers can totally and completely shape your day. they set the tone, compliment things like the bride’s dress, and make a bigger impact on the look of your day that anything else will. i (and my instagram followers) fell HARD for laura’s bouquet and that beauty only unfolded when you stepped into their reception hall.

i’m UHB-sessed with this photo. laura, you’re a stunner.

see what i mean what those flowers?! if that bouquet had been paired with a more simple, say silk taffeta, dress, it wouldn’t have had NEAR the impact it did. but see how the whimsy pinks and the bumpy, white-dotted veronica totally pull out the delicate lace edging in laura’s dress? perfection. what i’m basically preaching, is, show your florist your dress! they know flowers and know what will pair best with your look/dress. the end.

y’all know i love me a good set of groomsmen in grey suits. that, paired with laura’s off-white gown meant that my job editing was SO minimal. want to know why? email me and ask.

see how erin paired that fuzzy dusty miller to help pull in the blue’s of the bridesmaid dresses??? ok, i’ll hush now.

best groom’s cake ever? or best groom’s cake ever.

laura+craig’s ring bearer, who is laura’s godson, wanted to have a special toast with craig. he presented craig with a 6-pack of beer and brought himself a bottle of root beer. sweetest ever!

i usually don’t post bouquet/garter toss photos, but this guy deserved to have this photo posted with a catch like that.

see that photo on the left? remember leah from my first wedding this year? further proving i have the coolest brides ever, right?
