birthday sangria

classic sangria

for this past weekend’s birthday celebration, i whipped up my (in)famous sangria. i decided to keep it classic that day; recipe as follows. and, as you know, exact measurement is so NOT my style.
birthday sangria
one bottle light red wine (should probably use something spanish since it is sangria. however, i used a chianti.)
a few healthy glugs of brandy (i used peach)
half bottle club soda
~3 tbs sugar
juice of an orange (or 2)
juice of  a lemon
chopped fruit for pitcher (i used apple, orange & frozen strawberries)
chop fruit for bottom of pitcher. uncork wine and dump into said pitcher along with the other ingredients. the key is giving it time to do it’s magic. i gave my sangria about 4 hours of “marinating time” before serving with ice.
franny tested and approved.
