senior: evan; jasper high school class of 2013

i have been looking forward to this shoot for MONTHS. literally since i spoke with evan’s mom, my aunt, last spring. see, all my seniors are “cool” (obviously, they pick me to do their photos), but evan is like cool-cool. and he’s my cousin, so i have to say that, right? no. i’d say it even if he wasn’t my cousin. evan has always been an old soul and that personality has really became evident to me in the past couple of years. he’s kind, mature and really funny. evan and his family mean a lot to both myself (our wedding is at their house next week!) and especially josh as they’ve bonded over their love of the outdoors.
enjoy these photos, i think you’re going to really love them. (i started with my favorite, up above.)

this truck was evan’s great-grandfather’s. isn’t it amazing??? that blue is absolutely to die for.

another favorite. this would be amazing on a canvas.

and another favorite.

to me, this last set of photos is totally, 100% “evan.” flannel, the white river, nature.

we ended the session trying to capture some “bouldering” photos. “bouldering” is basically rock climbing without ropes. every mother’s dream, right? also, climbing up a really steep, leaf covered hill with thousands of dollars of equipment is a photographers dream, right? only for you, evan. ps, i’m so glad we did!

gear used: canon 5d mark ii, canon 50 1.4, canon 35 1.4.
