i originally met melissa a couple years ago when i shot her friend’s wedding, also in louisville. i couldn’t help but fall a little in love with her completely bubbly, tell-it-like-it-is (with a southern twang) personality. so you can imagine my pure delight when she reached out to me last year about shooting her own wedding, where my former bride would now pay back the favor of being maid of honor! a spring wedding on a kentucky horse farm (is there anymore more louisville? bourbon, perhaps.)? i was so in and counted down the days.
melissa and tim are such a dream to be around and were a dream couple. melissa wasn’t so keen on tons of photos of herself (i was told ignore her) but my plan of attack around that was to take small bursts throughout the day so that melissa didn’t realize that i have hundreds of photos of her. and tim? he is melissa’s steady rock, shoulder massager when she needs to be calmed, and source of the most genuine, beautiful smiles.
i’m so thrilled to have been a part of your day, truly. i hope you had a wonderful honeymoon in southern california and are settling back into your new normal. xoxo

melissa’s parents were married in this same tiny church years ago. it was the sweetest little chapel in all the land. seriously.
how gorgeous are melissa’s flowers? i know some brides like the look of an all white bouquet, but just trust me and throw in even a tiny pinch of color. it makes them stand out against your white dress and just lends an overall warmth to your look that photographs BEAUTIFULLY.
their little flower girl interrupted my portrait and turned it into absolute perfection.
seriously with these colors!? i could have photographed these lovely ladies alllll day.
Meghan,
Thanks for such a wonderful compilation of pictures of my daughter’s wedding day……..it was a dream come true……very nicely done, composed………just special.
