dear chloe,

oh, sweet chloe. it’s letter is SO overdue. and while we’re confessing/begging forgiveness, i’ll just go ahead and tell you that somewhere along the line i missed one of your monthly photos. which is why there is no “1 month” shot. for shame.

this has been a crazy season of life and adjusting to life with 2 kids has been a little….chaotic. i literally never feel like i have my stuff together. but that’s ok because you are such an amazing little baby and seem to roll with the punches so well.

you even had your first plane ride in january with a subsequent “vacation” in california. you did pretty well, but by the end of the week i think we were all ready for our own beds.

it seems like you’re going to be bigger than your sister. you don’t have quite the rolls she did but you definitely weigh more. currently you’re at 19 lbs 3 oz (at 7 months). you’re rolling and sit up by yourself so well. when you’re on your tummy (which you hate) i’ve caught you pulling your knees up under you but you mostly just get mad and push yourself backward. i also can’t even believe your old enough to have started solids but so far you’re doing great!

you’re teething like a mad woman, chewing on anything that gets close to your mouth. it’s so funny to see since your sister was really never much of a “chewy” kid. and the drool….oh my, your shirts are always soaked. speaking of your sister, your demeanor is pretty much the opposite of hers. i always tell people that these “feed me and tell me i’m pretty” shirts are totally you. as long as you have a reasonably full belly and someone is talking to you, you’re happy.

and while we’re on the subject of hazel, i’ll just go ahead and tell you something i’m sure you’re overtly aware of: she loves you. like loves you with every ounce of her being. i wish i had a dollar for how many times i have to tell her “gentle….get out of her face…back up!” it’s equal parts sweet and exhausting. she is also the one person that always gets a smile out of you, so i’m sure the feeling is mutual. i can’t wait to see the trouble you two get into.

you’re wearing 6-12 month clothing and size 3 diapers but their days are really numbered. you like chewing on any toy, but this taggie toy is your absolute favorite thing on the entire planet. you finally started sleeping through the night, consistently, at about 5.5 months old. can i get an “ALLELUIA!?” i fully realize that 5 months isn’t that long but when you’re doing life on 2-3 hour chunks of broken sleep, things get….hard. and then they hit the fan. but that totally horrible season is temporary and fairly short lived. all praise, for you and hazel, goes to the babywise method of sleep training.

you are such a ray of light, chloe. i have a feeling you’re going to be a total goofball and pray you’ll be a little less dramatic than your sister. we can all hope, right???

we love you so much little coconut,

momma
