on the road: dachau

i fully realize i need to start putting pen to paper on our trip because memories are going to start fading, fast.

easily the most poignant and memorable stop on our trip was dachau. i don’t need to tell you how significant this place is, or how haunting it is, or how i’ll never forget the feeling of walking through those halls.

what i couldn’t escape, the entire time we were on the grounds, was the fact that the holocaust didn’t happen that long ago. those quarters have the strangest energy of anywhere i’ve ever been. those halls. those cold, concrete floors are still very much alive, seemingly whispering the theme of the entire place: never again.

i believe for a place like this, photos speak so much louder than i ever could.
