warm and cozy

when the weather downshifts to the lower numbers, like clockwork, i crave soup. in the winter i especially like to stockpile as many varieties as my freezer space will allow. combine that with stresses of life catching up with me, this past week i simply HAD to cook something and that something was this grilled corn and potato chowder. i lack the know how to operate our grill was too lazy to grill the corn or potatoes so i just sautéed them. i also added some garlic as well as a red pepper to the corn mix for a little more veggie oomph. note: i used cayenne pepper and only added half of what it called for and was told that “you didn’t need that extra 1/2 tsp.”
