2012, a look back at: engagements

i simply can NOT believe it’s time to do another retrospective on my year. what started out as me wanting to show my clients (and the internet) the work i accomplished (how self-indulgent?!) has become more of a memory book for me. it’s so fun for me to play through past year’s videos and see how much i have grown as a photographer.
2012 was an amazing year for MHP. my best yet; is there anything more i could ask for? while i love shooting weddings, i REALLY love shooting engagements. lucky for me, i shot quite a few of them this year (mainly for 2013 weddings). totally subjectively, the above is my absolute favorite engagement photo i took all year. it has nothing to do with how much i love ashley and kyle as a couple and everything to do with how i feel that photo 100% represents my brand: organic, fresh, and real. it can be really hard to pull that out of every single shoot i do but when it happens, i’m thrilled.
since it’s the season of giving, i’ve decided to do a little contest. i’ll be uploading my favorite photo(s) from each engagement session (some i simply could NOT decide between) to my facebook page (album here!) and you can vote for your favorite! what’s at stake? the couple whose photo has most votes at the end of the day on December 27th (12/27/12) will receive a FREE 20×24″ (that’s a $175 canvas, people!) canvas of their photo! that’s a huge photo, people, so help out your friends!
and to wrap up, you can check out my 2012 engagement highlight reel. and all my love and light to my 2012 engagement clients. i am truly honored to be your photographer and friend.
