i do: emily + anthony; huntingburg indiana wedding photographer

it all started with a call to her best friend, “i think i had a date last night,” emily stated. her friend asked what they did, “we had dinner and went to a movie,” emily answered. her friend quickly informed her that that, in fact, was a date. emily and anthony would have many more to follow and last weekend they both put rings on it, making it official.
i am so over the moon for these two. their wedding was full of calming joy, as i put it. emily is bubbly to the max, but i found her so calm and peaceful throughout the day (despite drinking a quite large energy drink and claiming she was going to be skipping down the aisle) but that was never so evident as when she saw anthony for the first time. this absolute happiness washed over her (and anthony) and was unlike any wedding i’ve photographed. emily, especially, was literally beaming–wait until you see her portraits.
on a personal note, this was my first wedding photographing as a married lady. it was really cool to have been fresh off the boat being on the other side of the action just one week prior. being a bride has truly opened my eyes to wedding photography in a way i never expected. it’s a sort of empathy i now share.
emily…anthony, i wish you absolutely nothing but the best. i believe your future is so bright and you have the support of some pretty amazing family and friends who will be there to catch you when you stumble. hold on to that, for it’s truly special.

emily’s best friend, stefanie, an nfl cheerleader and makeup extraordinare, has been doing emily’s makeup for years. starting on the school bus when they were wee ones.

emily and anthony chose to see each other before the ceremony. i will always shout from the rooftops how much i love first looks. there is no other opportunity to get photos like these.

never, have i ever seen a happier more, radiant bride. ugh these photos make me so stinking happy.

i posted this photo on my fb page and it has made this little lady quite the celebrity. i can’t tell you how many people have stopped me to tell me how adorable she is. you’ll also notice this is my first wedding i’ve played around with off camera lighting (OCL). it yielded my most favorite reception photos to date. so much depth and vivid color. love it.
