kara and seth….where do i begin? as i have said before and in their engagement post, i feel such a connection with kara and seth. it’s something i always hope for and when it does happen, magic is created. i left their reception, my last of the year, a bit teary for many reasons. the end of a really great wedding season being one, but the “end” of our photo journey being the other. with every instagram post and email i received, pre-wedding, from kara, my excitement grew as i knew i had the privilege of calling one of the sweetest, most caring and adorable women i know, a client…nay, friend.
an example of that kindness? while at the salon prepping for nicole’s wedding just 3 weeks before her own wedding, i asked kara if she was so excited for her own wedding and her response? “i am, but i’m just so focused on nicole’s day today. i’m so excited for her…” if that doesn’t speak to her character, then i don’t know what does.
after hair and makeup (by one of my other lovely 2014 brides, makenzie) at iCandy in jasper, we traveled to st. mary’s in huntingburg where kara donned her gorgeous gown found at illusions in vincennes, indiana. lauren sergesketter designed the bouquets and flowers that so beautifully decorated klubhaus 61 in jasper. i loved all their personal touches, like the love knots at every place setting, and the super cute cakes made by jayme merkel.
seth, kara, i wish you two absolutely nothing but the best. i’m so excited for you two and your future, which will be nothing but bright.
check out seth’s stunning rose gold wedding band. man i’m crushing on that ring! also, do you see me??
i have found so many shared interested with this couple, and another one to add to that list? the love of pendleton blankets. seth gifted kara one as a wedding gift. i’d say she loved it. and i loved that we were able to use it for portraits later in the day!
these little girls were the BEST flower girls/miniature bride!! i wish i could hire them to come dance at all my weddings!
omg, this photo. gah!!!!!!
these two…they wrote poems for their uncle and new aunt. all by themselves. it was beyond words.
this is what happens when you play “let it go” at a reception with 2 of frozen’s biggest fans (donning movie-correct up-do’s and all).
after i was off the clock, i wasn’t quite ready to leave and, for giggles, i decided to remove all flashes, crank up my iso and shoot away. the result? some of my favorite reception photos to date. i adore these moments. i have a feeling kara and seth will, too. for those wondering, i was at 8000 iso. #ilovemymarkiii
